The Stacks DeGrants Funding Program for Creative Innovation in NFTs on Stacks

The Stacks DeGrants Funding Program

The Stacks DeGrants Funding Program is an experimental funding initiative designed by the Stacks community, for the Stacks community. With a $50k fund, the program supports projects aimed at enhancing the Stacks ecosystem.

It comprises six tracks: NFTs, Community & Governance, DeFi, Developer, BNS, and Retroactive. Each track is facilitated by a group of stewards who run weekly Twitter Spaces to invite community involvement, provide updates, and offer mentorship.

Introducing Stacks

The Stacks blockchain is a layer-1 blockchain solution that brings smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) to Bitcoin.

It operates independently but is connected to Bitcoin through its unique consensus mechanism called Proof of Transfer (PoX).

This allows Stacks to leverage the security and stability of the Bitcoin network while enabling more complex functionalities like smart contracts, NFTs, and DeFi applications.

Stacks enhances Bitcoin's capabilities without altering its core protocol, aiming to build a more robust and versatile Bitcoin ecosystem.

Funding for Art, Film, Photography, Music and Film

We invite all innovators, artists, builders and visionaries in the NFT space to join us in enhancing the Stacks NFT ecosystem. Whether you're looking to build a groundbreaking product or create an inspiring art project, we're open to any concept that can make Stacks NFTs more engaging, accessible, and rewarding for all.

With a $9k funding program we hope to advance the Art on Stacks for the benefit of both artists and community members. Please keep the funding budget in mind when planning your proposal.

By addressing key areas in art, film, photography, music and literature, we aim to foster a thriving creative community on Stacks, where artists can directly benefit from their work and engage more deeply with their audiences.

We’re excited to see your innovative concepts and projects that will help build a vibrant and thriving NFT ecosystem on Stacks.

Let's create something extraordinary together!

What We’re Looking For

We’re inviting applicants to submit either platform building projects or traditional art projects.

Platform Building Projects

Your proposals should aim to make things better for artists and enable them to sell directly to their collectors, improving their earnings. Consider the unique needs and challenges of artists and how we can leverage the Stacks blockchain to provide innovative solutions for creators and collectors.

Traditional Art Projects

Your proposals should aim to celebrate and enhance the artistic experience while addressing the real-world challenges artists face. Focus on your unique needs and how we can use the Stacks blockchain to support your journey, from creation to exhibition and sales. Any subject matter and format is acceptable, with the goal of minting and selling the resulting works through Stacks.

Meet Your Mentors

Your mentors are available on the weekly X spaces listed below.  We are also available in the Stacks DeGrants Console.  It is highly recommended that you attend these spaces and join the Console where you can use the NFT + Create Track to introduce yourself and discuss your project.

During the weekly X spaces, please be mindful of time constraints.  Should you wish to discuss your project please be prepared to share a pitch of under 2 minutes.  Depending on the number of applicants on the call, your conversation with the mentors will be limited to between 5-10 minutes.
